Both our ice and purified water start with our VI municipal water supply. We then filter the water in stages to a one micron filter. Removing most of the solids present in our “potable” water. The tap water served in most restraunts usually is not even this pure. At this stage the water still has over 200 parts per million of dissolvled solids The next step in purification is to remove the “disolved’ solids. These are impurities too fine to be removed by standard filtration. We use reverse osmosis to do this.. Reverse osmosis uses a semi permiable membrane which will allow water molecules to pass through it but not the larger molecules of the imputies that are still in the water. This process does come with a price. Even though our state of the art reverse osmosis plant recycles some of the water twice we still reject about 40% of the water to make the final purified product

Since our focus is on sustainabilty our favorite way to package our water is in your own container. We have a sanitary waterfill station in the shop where you can bring in youir own container and refill and save. If you do not have your own container you can purchace one of ours. We sell one, three, and five gallon bottles for water. Just viisting the island??? you can use one of our recyleable three or five gallon containers during your stay and return it when you leave. The three gallons are easy to carry and will fit easily in the fridge back at your villa. Our three and five gallon containers are sanitized in our bottle washing machine when they are returned for refill. We also offer delivery with the refillable containers or you can swap them out in the shop.
